Canine Good Citizen

This 10-step test is open to all breeds but was especially designed for Pit and Pit/Mix dogs. The intent is to reward dogs that exhibit good manners at home and in our commmunity. All dogs who pass are eligible to receive a Canine Good Citizen certificate from the American Kennel Club. The SPCA offers this test in conjunction with the Animal Farm Foundation, a New York-based organization that aims to change the perception of Pit Bulls across the U.S. For every certified Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix that passes the test, AFF makes a $150 donation to the SPCA’s homeless pets. Dogs must be current on rabies vaccinations.
